God Speed
I got a message in the middle of the night that my older brother Gene had passed away. He has been battling bone cancer for several months now and he said he was ready to go home. It is amazing how time flies. Many years have gone by since were were young and yet with his passing I was flooded with memories as if they all happened yesterday. I am very thankful that as believers we know that this is not the end....it is just the beginning and we will be united for eternity in a much better place that has no sorrow or pain. Gene's precious wife, Melanie, has tirelessly taken care of him over the past several months. It requires such courage to watch a loved one decline, but I believe that God will reward that unfailing love and dedication. I know that she draws her strength from above.

Gene was about to have a birthday on August 2. He always loved lions so this post has three of my favorites.

Good luck with the blog... I am not good at journaling so I understand the challenge. I like your entry, and I agree as long as God keeps us walking this earth everyday is a new chance to start over and to make progress. Thank you for blessing us with your beautiful art work.
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I sent a message one this post the other night but it took me to google and when I came back to this blog my message was gone. It was late and I had to get off the internet. I just sent the Flamingo blog and it went straight through...good.
ReplyDeleteYour brother is in heaven! I love to think about this. I love Jesus and making all this possible and that we never say, "good-bye." Thank you Lord Jesus. The "Healer" painting is strong and mighty! I love it. "Courageous" and "A Day of Rest" are very beautiful too.
I pray God comfort you, Melanie and your loved ones each day. It is a comfort to know the Truth and Father God. I can't imagine not having our Lord. We are beyond blessed. We will snuggle with the lions. Imagine. Excited about what's in our near future. Life is a vapor, then eternity.
